However, the path to consistent victory is laid by meticulous effort. Every application for patent we draft is examined by two patent attorneys to ensure optimal results. The firm’s technical team assists the inventor in the formulation of the invention from the preliminary stages, even before drafting the detailed application begins. Drawings that accompany the application for patent are prepared using CAD graphic design software with both two dimensional and three dimensional capabilities, which prevents human error and enables optimal display of the constructed design from different angles.  

 

Customer relations: Our firm has a customer relations contact person, who coordinates all the links with clients. Given that the patent application and registration processes are a mystery to most people, we make it easier for the client by providing written and verbal explanations of each stage in the process for registering a patent, design or trademark. Correspondence with clients is conducted in their preferred language – Hebrew or English.

 

Computerized office management: In accordance with intellectual property laws, each activity in the process has a defined deadline. Non-compliance with the deadline may result in losing the application for patent, design or trademark. Regretfully, there is precedent for such in Israel: a large, well-established patent office failed to meet a deadline, causing the loss of the application for the client. Another sensitive issue is the possibility that due to human error, mail addressed to one client can be sent mistakenly to another. To ensure that such errors do not occur, our firm is managed using a computerized system, which coordinates all activities, including reminders, mail sent by the system, client file management strategies and much more. This unique system was constructed by a software engineer who is himself a patent attorney. Therefore, he has intimate knowledge of every aspect of the patent application process. 
 

Quality control:  In addition to office automation, Edison Patent Attorneys Ltd. implements quality control processes. All memoranda and mail exiting the office are checked by two team members and each patent application is checked by a proofreader. Team members systematically consult about lines of defense to be taken for patent applications, responses to patent examination reports and all other professional issues. As required by the circumstances, the firm also consults with professional colleagues in other countries.
